Here is the Maltitzer Braune Tomato aka Brown Maltitzer Tomato, Solanum lycopersicum. This tomato originates from Germany and was discovered in 2004. It got its name from Anne Urban-Baumgart from Maltitz Germany. She discovered a random seedling in your garden, raised it and stabilized the new variety. The fruits are flattened and more or less ribbed. They have several fruit chambers, juicy soft flesh and are surrounded by a skin that is not quite stable. The taste is spicy, aromatic and sweet without much acid. Plants tend to get to 3 feet tall. Great for salads, slicing and for tomato sauce! Open pollinated indeterminate regular leaf mid season 65-75 days.
